How to act Christian when you're Buddhist
There's this latino kid on my bus who absolutely won't leave me alone. He thinks we're friends or something. He has bad b.o and doesn't ever stop talking! I am courteous to him and always civil, but he's really getting on my bad side. How do I put up a "leave me alone" barrier without hurting him? How do you let someone know that you can't stand them in any way and be Christian about it? Or Buddhist for that matter? I suppose the Christian way would be to look beyond the faults to God inside. Myself, being buddhist, I've tried to develop tolerance and patience, but inside, my thoughts betray my actions. I only hope I continue in my steadfastness in patience. And maybe make some minor adjustments in my schedule to avoid to many bumping-intos of him.
A representation of my frustration

I thought I'd just drop by and say,"Hey, there... ", but I fear that latino kid might have ruined my chances with you... Damn my brethen.... :P
ps: wait... I'm chicano... awwrite... I may still have my chance with you... heheh...
pps: here's a tip... pretend you're lesbian... you might need the assistance of a female accomplice. ;)

Don't worry, I only found his personality annoying. No matter what nationality, I still judge people by their personality and not their appearance. [Although good hygeine should never be overlooked! :) ]
Maybe it's me being naive, but what's the difference between a latino and a chicano? I've heard of both, but I live in the midwest where tragically any spanish speaking person is simply known as poor.
I wish the lesbian thing could work, but me being an idiot already told him I had a boyfriend (I lied). I'll have to remember that though. Don't have any female friends really. Not any that take the bus anyway.

"Latino" is general and "Chicano" is more specific. "Latino" could describe someone from any part of South America, Puerto Rico, Cuba or someone with heritage linked to those places. "Chicano" is used for Mexican-Americans. That's the best I know... and I wasn't accusing you of anything dearie, I was just playing. :)
