It's raining!!! FInally. We've had a pretty serious drought all summer, and although a bit too late for the crops, the rain is nevertheless welcome as it raises the water table. It got so bad that many of the trees were actually dying. Now the ground is so hard that when rain does coe, it sloshes right off. So I broke out the Wellies and went puddle jumping this morning. Puddle jumping is something that, in my opinion, should be practiced by everyone. Very fun. Just make sure you have a dry set of clothes waiting for afterward, so you don't have to go squelching off to school in sodden jeans.
