My Big Fat Greek Car
07.28.05 (6:46 pm) [edit]
Amazing how the chain of events in my life keep linking here and there. A couple days ago I decided it was time for me to get my own car. Paid in saved-up, hard-earned, completely-mine, cash. However, after school costs and geez, just the cost of groceries for a full time vegan, I am left with a measely $2500 to get a decent, reliable car with.
I think I actually found one though! Some of the powers that be must be smiling down on me. I found a lovely Honda Civic in my town being sold by a Greek couple. It looks promising. Will Mary Anne finally get her wheels? And will they be purple? Stay tuned...
I swear, if I buy this thing, The first thing I'll do is go out and have a good gyro.

And All That Jazz

Tomorrow I am going to visit downtown Chicago, something that I, even though being a resident of Illinois for 20 years, have never done. It should be interesting. I'm a bit of a country girl, so the city will definately be an educational experience. I wouldn't say I am country in the linedancing, Garth Brooks listening, Nascar fan kind of way, but just that cornfields and peace and quiet are things I'm used to.
I've been to a couple other cities: Seattle, Washington D.C., Montreal, and I get a bit of arenaline rush from the crazy pace of everything, but Chicago feels distinctly industrial somehow. We'll see.
No word from the boyfriend. My latest conclusion is that he's been eaten by bears. *shrug*.
35 days till I can go back to college.

Absence makes the heart grow lonely

It's been three weeks and I haven't heard a word from the boyfriend. Not a phone call or letter or email or anthing. Granted, no cell phones work where he is in the mountains, and there are no computers in the ashram (temple) where he is staying, but you'd think a person could at least write a line or two in three weeks. I'm beginning to feel abandoned. I've been completely faithful, and I feel like I have all the restrictions and none of the benefits of a beau. Is it time I called it quits or should I give him more time?
Uggh..Love... you can keep it.
